There is so much to learn from Ed Catmull, President of Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios. Perhaps what struck me most is a brief section, about 3 or 4 minutes into the talk, where Catmull reminds that Pixar began life (in 1986) as a computer manufacturer, building the Pixar Image Computer. The lessons he learned then inform the company he runs now. In those early days, as a manufacturer, he looked to Toyota as a role model. He found inspiration in Toyota's process for finding errors, distributing responsibility, and fixing problems.
Nearly everything Catmull says in this interview is valuable for anyone interested in learning from Pixar's approach.

The goal is not to become a master of 3-D in the 4 weeks of this course...but to simply introduce the basics and help you create some cool things in 3-D.
